David Ortiz of the Boston Red Sox has hit his 40th home run today against the Tampa Bay Devil Rays today even though they lost they are still in the playoff race. Because of Jason Varitek's injuries to his leg the Red-Sox have aquired Javy Lopez from the Orioles on waivers. Because of this addition I still think they could finish in 1st place.
